New One-of-a-Kind Works Added

Robert Wu employs the age-old technique of marbling, painting on the surface of water, to create intricate works of art. Colours are first floated onto a gelatinous size on the surface of the water. Combs and rakes are used to create designs by manipulating the colours. A sheet of paper is then laid onto the surface to transfer the pattern from water to paper! Thus, each work is exquisitely unique. Robert has a Master’s degree in architecture and his attention to aesthetics, design and detail can be seen in his art work. The intricacies of the colours and lines of his work are compelling. That that level of detail can be obtained from painting on water is almost unbelievable. Be sure to look at the detail images of his work.
Robert has been creating marbled art for over 15 years. Collections of Robert’s "Marbled Graphics"™ can be found in private collections worldwide and in notable libraries and institutions including Harvard University and Fisher Rare Books Library, University of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Robert is also a hand bookbinder, box maker, and gilder.
