Part of the "E" series by Neil Mark, this piece also includes a rock surrounded/embraced by the powerful root system of a Manitoba maple. This sculpture is interesting from every angle, and is a wonderful way to bring nature inside. Mounted on a steel rod on a solid walnut base, this is definitely a statement piece.

The Artist: Neil Mark, an artist, and a farmer, is the sixth generation on his family farm, north of Lake Scugog. Neil uses his deep love of trees and nature to sculpt mesmerizing sculptures. Working with the natural appeal of the wood itself, Neil uncovers the beauty in every piece, transforming it from an unassuming piece, discovered in the forest or in the field, to a work of art. When Neil is not creating his own pieces, he is working on pieces of walnut, spalted maple and Manitoba maple that become either “canvases” for Hannah Mark’s (daughter) animal paintings, or a base for the steel creations of Cathy Mark (wife). You never know what wonderful new collaboration you will find at the Mark family farm and studio.
