The little hand carved owls sit calmly on a smooth white/grey stone. The owl is based on the tiny Saw-whet Owl of northern North America, with its large head and eyes. Highly nocturnal, this owl is rarely seen. Each of these hand carved creatures are slightly different but will be approximately 3 1/4" from beak to tip of tail. The stone is approximately 2 " long and 2" tall. Total height of piece is approximately 4". Available in walnut, poplar and cherry. Please note wood type at checkout.
The Artist/Carver: Award-winning artist and master carver Marc Degagne, lived for more than 30 years on his family farm, at the northern tip of Algonquin Park, in Ontario Canada. He would often steal away into the woods to carve beavers, and other woodland creatures that surrounded him. Completely self taught, and now many years later, Marc has won many awards for his design and artistry and has carved commissioned sculptures for churches and shrines. In tune with the sites and sounds of grey timber wolves, birds, owls, turtles and bears, Degagne captures their spirits in beautiful woods.
