Artist: Robert Bateman, born in Toronto, ON is one of Canada's best known artists and its premier wildlife painter. Bateman is also known as one of the top naturalists, so it is no wonder that his subjects for more than fifty years of painting are primarily birds and animals. He was awarded the Officer of the Order of Canada and has been the subject of a number of films and books.
