Typical of this artist's pieces, each one is one-of-a-kind and has its own personality. With a small metal loop for hanging, these are fun on their own, and even more fun as a school of fish.

Size: 5 1/2" - 6 1/2" in length

Jim Bromley, a self-titled Folk Artist, works out of his studio on his country property outside of Ayr, ON. Jim was born in North Bay and has returned to the north many times as a wilderness canoeist. His love of nature has been with him all his life, and influences his current art practice. During his university days, working towards his economics degree at Wilfrid Laurier, Jim was involved in art as a set designer, stage manager and graphic artist.
Jim has worked with clay and wood for over 40 years, and is self–taught. Since his retirement, he has been focusing full-time on his art and has exhibited in a number of galleries. “My medium is clay and my subjects are birds, fish and any other animals that interest me. Folk Art is an impression of what the artist sees in real life. I depict my [pieces] as creatures from nature as I look for their inner spirit. I take my inspiration from our ancient peoples who drew on cave walls and carved in wood and stone those animals that they revered. My sculptures of clay, and material collected from my property, attempt to depict the energy of the animal in a realistic setting.”
