TO SLEEP, PERCHANCE TO DREAM, is a painting with a title famous from Shakespeare's HAMLET. This original acrylic on canvas, like a play, has a cast of interwoven characters, and the story unfolds are you pay attention to it. A lovely piece, typical of the unique style of this Canadian artist.

The Artist: Wendy Campbell is a Hamilton, Ontario based artist focusing mainly on painting and illustration. Having spent many years outside of Canada in places including Grand Cayman Island, Germany, and Japan, her work is a fusion of her experiences with the people, the art, and the customs of these locations as well as her adventures in Canada. Also, Wendy has some First Nations heritage which is often reflected (unconsciously) in her work. "I have a strong interest in human connections, how we relate with each other, and our relationship with the natural world. Issues surrounding the environment and consumer culture have become of great importance to me over the last decade and it is a goal to create works that will help to start conversations and bring awareness to these subjects. Concepts of acceptance, inclusion, and compassion are important to me and figure prominently in my work. I attempt to achieve this in an often light-hearted, colourful, and sometimes humorous way.”
