The Artisan: Mike Levinthal was raised in Preston (Cambridge), Ontario. His work is influenced by the arts and crafts of the 1960s and 70s. His Dad, an engineer and woodworker, taught Mike that there was nothing you couldn’t do if you put your mind to it. A sports fanatic, Mike was a tennis coach, skied competitively and played numerous other sports. He hitchhiked across North America three times to experience all the continent had to offer. Always being good with his hands, Mike took over and ran his parent’s custom framing in Cambridge for many years. For the last 20 years, Mike has been doing art production and installations for large companies. Going back to the roots of the arts of the 1970s, Mike uses the best leather to create his leather bracelets.Mike can often be found at the saddlery, tack shop getting materials for his work.
